Adalah Chantale Sebire, sang wanita pemohon yang tak ingin melanjutkan hidupnya. Ia putus asa, karena gurita tumor merusak esthesioneuroblastom Wajah bagi wanita, estesioneuroblastom simbol feminitas dan kecantikan. Itu pula yang diyakini seorang Sebire.
Apalagi, wajah Sebire benar-benar mengerikan. Bentuknya sudah tak karuan. Penyakit yang diderita tak bisa disembuhkan dan merupakan kasus yang amat langka.
Tak estesioneuroblastom kondisi esthesioneuroblastoma Sebire memohon agar chantal sebire diizinkan mati. Sebire memohon kepada Presiden Prancis Nicolas Sarkozy agar mengizinkannya mati dengan cara euthanasia.
Wanita malang ini berumur 52 tahun. Ia ingin segera mengakhiri penderitaannya. Akibat tumor esthesioneuroblastoma wajahnya, Sebire tak bisa dikenali lagi. “Binatang saja tak akan dibiarkan mengalami apa yang harus saya alami,” kata Sebire memelas.
Mantan guru ini tercatat tinggal di Plombieres-les-Dijon, Prancis Tengah. Euthanasia (suntik mati) di Prancis dilarang. Berbeda dengan hukum di negara Eropa lainnya, seperti Belanda dan Belgia yang membolehkan suntik mati.
Sebire mengungkapkan, penyakitnya didiagnosa dokter sebagai penyakit langka, disebut esthesioneuroblastoma. Penyakit itu telah membuat matanya buta dan merampas semua inderanya.
Belum lagi rasa sakit yang luar biasa yang dirasakannya. Sekali menyerang, rasa sakit itu esthesioneuroblastoma berlangsung hingga empat jam. “Pada tahun 2000, saya kehilangan indera penciuman dan pengecap, kemudian tumor berkembang dan menyerang kelopak mata saya,” tutur Sebire.
“Saya kehilangan penglihatan saya pada Oktober tahun lalu,” jelas ibu tiga anak itu. Malang bagi Sebire, di dunia ini dalam tempo esthesioneuroblastoma tahun terkahir hanya ada 200 chantal sebire photo penyakit esthesioneuroblastoma sama esthesioneuroblastoma dirinya.
